Wiki's, quick, quick! Excellent way to find information but with the realization that some info. may be incorrect due to collaborative editing capability. Do not use Wikipedia as a resource for research papers kids!

Thing #15

I looked at several Web 2.0 and Library 2.0 websites. The ability to collaborate is huge, through all of the various tools available on the web. I feel that I have gained quite a bit of knowledge already and realize the infinite possibilities.

Thing #17

I visited the Learning 2.0 Sandbox wiki. I posted my blog in with the other blogs and posted a comment. It was interesting to take a look at other blogs and how unique they all are.

Thing #9

I glanced at MERLIN, which is an excellent site designed to support ongoing learning of web based technologies. I subscribed to Learning 2.1 and discovered that there are actually 52 "Things" and counting.
I also took a look at Second Life, viewed tutorials on youtube, saw the site for Info Island and created an avatar. My department should create a second life island where we can show off our techi-nerdiness!

Things 5, 6 & 7

Looked at Flickr and Picassa. Have seen Flickr used on other people's blogs as a means of photo sharing. Looked at Montagr. I love mosaics and know I would have fun using this tool. Added a slideshow of sunset photos from Picassa to my blog. Being such a visually oriented person, completing things 5-7 was one of my favorite activities.

Things 1-4

Let's see. I read Maryland Libraries Learning 2.0 blog and learned about 23 Things. I was reminded how important it is to be a lifelong learner. I enjoy working in an academic environment with consistant exposure to new information. I set up my own blog on Blogger.

I will keep my supervisor posted on my progress.

Bloglines newsreader Thing #8

I compiled a list of news sources on Bloglines. I had already looked at Rollyo, didn't like it as much as Bloglines. Lots of news sources all in one place. Convenience is appealing.
